House Chair, Joint Committee on Labor and Workforce Development
Representative Paul McMurtry from Dedham was elected in a special election in May 2007. He is now entering his 10th term in the House of Representatives and currently serves as Chair of the Joint Committee on Labor & Workforce Development. Driven by the quote attributed to Hubert Humphrey, “the moral test of government is how it treats those who are in the dawn of life, the children; those who are in the twilight of life, the aged; and those who are in the shadow of life, the sick, the needy, and the handicapped,” Representative McMurtry considers his public service an opportunity to give back to the community.
Paul McMurtry has been self-employed as a small business owner for 40 years and is the owner of the Dedham Community Theatre.
