Senator Pat Jehlen

Senator Pat Jehlen represents Somerville, Medford and parts of Winchester and Cambridge. She was elected to the Massachusetts Senate in 2005 after serving her community as a Representative in the House and a Somerville School Committee Member.

In the Senate she currently serves as Chair of the Joint Committee on Aging and Independence, Vice Chair of the Joint Committee on Education as well as the Joint Committee on Revenue. Senator Jehlen also serves on the Committee Labor and Workforce Development which she previously chaired for multiple sessions.

Senator Jehlen helped lead the fight to increase the minimum wage, to target tax cuts towards working families by increasing the earned income tax credit and child care credit, and to increase the senior circuit breaker. She was able to pass bills in 2016 and 2024 on wage equity and wage transparency to better equip workers and job seekers across the state with information on pay ranges and help close wage gaps.
