MJ Ryan

MJ Ryan is the Vice President for Workforce Development for Mass General Brigham where she has held various clinical, teaching and management positions. MJ leads a system-wide team addressing high demand roles across the largest private employer in MA and fosters collaboration with key partners and stakeholders involved in skill development and job readiness training for community residents, (youth and adult), and career advancement opportunities for Mass General Brigham’s incumbent workforce. Over the past decade plus, Mass General Brigham Workforce Development has focused largely on innovative strategies to increase access to higher education and career advancement for current employees through digital learning, coaching and flexible options for working adults. MJ has co- chaired the Boston Health Care Careers Consortium since its inception in 2009. She was a member of the MA Health Care Collaborative, where she co-chaired the Direct Care Workforce sub-committee. She sits on the MassHires Boston Council, the JVS Boston Advisory Council and is a former board member of the Massachusetts Business Alliance for Education (MBAE). MJ helped to launch and provided Technical Assistance for The CareerStat Health Care Workforce Academy, an initiative of the National Fund for Workforce Solutions to help develop health care workforce development leaders and teams. She has also worked with Business Leaders United, to advocate for legislative support for national Workforce Development funding and system change. MJ holds a BS degree in Education from University of Maine at Orono, a certificate in Nuclear Medicine Technology from Rhode Island Hospital, and a graduate degree in Health Care Management from Cambridge College.
