Matt Hartman

Matt Hartman serves as Assistant Secretary for Workforce Innovation in EOLWD. He provides support for the MassHire State Workforce Development Board, its various subcommittees and initiatives, and oversees significant elements of the MassHire Innovation Project including the Legal and Policy Working Group. He has been managing the team working on the 2026 Gateway Cities Youth Pilot throughout 2025-26. Assistant Secretary Hartman transitioned to EOLWD after spending 12 years in the legislature, working for two state senators and workforce leaders, Sen. Ken Donnelly and Sen. Pat Jehlen, and serves as an elected member of the Melrose School Committee.
